#the fact that theangryviolinist took a moment to appreciate this aside from Tyler Hoechlin’s arms
it’s a christmas miracle
hoping i get a shit ton of financial aid from bard. send positive energy my way ‘cause i’m gonna need it. should find out this week…
and i finally settled on a craptastic $300 replacement laptop because i’m poor and just don’t give a crap about specs at this point.
still looking for a job to replace my waiting gig.
no longer beating myself up over that botched honor’s recitals performance.
it’s been a weird fucking week.

that’s usually how i play it
-Oh the weather outside is weather
But the fire is so fire
Sense we’ve got no place to place
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow-
nickelback is the new bach
sometimes i read stuff on my facebook feed and i don’t know whether to get angry, laugh, or just cry
so i uploaded that less than perfect recording because a) i’ve been beating myself up over that performance and because i needed to get it off of my chest somehow and b) you vultures wouldn’t stop asking for recordings
but anyway i have a second recording of that piece from an earlier performance of mine and the difference is pretty startling. startling in that the earlier performance was about ten times better than the one i just uploaded even though it was also somehow worse.
and from a technical standpoint the earlier recording really and truly is actually worse. i missed some shifts and had a few out of tune notes in the uploaded recording but they were far more pronounced in the first one. but the difference between the first and second recordings is that the first was just so much more emotionally charged.
but somehow it’s better than the second one? weird how emotion and musicality make such a difference even when the technique behind the performance isn’t quite up to par.
